new "old" fabric
Last week I called my former local quilt shop in Michigan (since they have no website to order from) and I was able to get my hands on this lovely Denyse Schmidt Flea Market Fancy fabric. It's from Denyse's first fabric line, which came out a few years ago. I was so excited that the quilt shop still had the elusive blues and greens left. I ordered a bunch, as you can see. And when I called, she just happened to be having a sale.
I am one very happy fabric loving girl.
edited to add: I bought my fabric from So South Haven. Her phone number is (269) 637-0603. She is no longer holding the sale for this line of fabric, so the price is now $9.00 per yard. Please have an idea of which fabrics you would like to order from this line before calling the shop. You can see the line here.
---------
She does have some fabric lines on sale including:
Summer Night (brushed cottons) by Holly Taylor for Moda
Grandma's Pastels by Benartex
Christmas Treasures by Benartex
Star of Wonder by Nancy Halvorson by Benartex
Peppermint and Holly Berries by Nancy Halvorson by Benartex
So You Sew Fun by RJR
Whimsey by Free Spirit
Adventures of Sunny Bear by Red Rooster
River Bed by Benartex
Fleurish by Valorie Wells
if you buy 10 one yard cuts the price per yard is $6.00.
Happy shopping!

i am so JEALOUS! I really want some! I found a stash on ebay just this week (only fat quarters) but would love to get some more.
Jealous here too!! My husband was in Dallas this past week for business and I actually called TEN quilt shops in the area to see if they had any! No luck. :( Would you mind sharing your dealer?! (Isn't good fabric like crack?)
These are so pretty, you were lucky to find them.
I used this fabric for my first son's crib quilt...I loved it! Luckily, I had a bit left over so I added some to my second son's baby quilt as well.
This is a great blog! I check it daily and can't wait to have a bit more time to quilt. Baby #2 is only a week old...so it may be a few months :)
ack! lucky, lucky you!
Lucky duck! Still no pink in there - hmmm, what's gotten into you!?
smack! I've been looking for the blue flower as well! It's your lucky day!
I love Flea Market Fancy! Great find! There's nothing like a LQS.
Oooooooo are you one very lucky girl! The colors are beautiful--can't wait to see what they become in your so very capable hands;)
Wow. Im jealous too!!
Yup...add me to the list of jelous people. I think I need to call all the quilt shops in Michigan... :)
Wow...love those fabrics...lucky you!
Great find...it reminded me of Heather Mulder's quilt she recently made using some of those fabrics. It's so yummy.

Can't wait to see what you do with it.
I'm way jealous too! I've been looking for the green and grey forever now!
Lovely fabrics , lucky girl. Noticed you used plenty of white in your quilts, may I know which line of fabric do you use for the whites ? I tried the Kona cotton on some of my quilts, and find them a bit stiff and difficult to hand quilt. I am looking for a fabric with softer hand so it will be easier to hand quilt. Any recommendation ?? Thank you.
That's exciting! I love those blues. Where in Michigan did you live? I'm also from Michigan. :)
Beautiful fabrics! Can't wait to hear what you plan to do with them.
Jen :)
I love those fabrics!
Ooh! Pretty fabric and a sale? Score!
Oh how fun! I'm still looking for the blues as well - any idea if they have any left (if you're willing to share your source, that is!)
Beautiful!! You should of called, I could of run out there for you!
Ok so where is the shop in MI? That's where I live. These are beautiful!
Hmmm... maybe there's a streak of luck to jump on here. I should call the bead shop that I'm pining away for in NYC. Love the fabrics.
i like the green ones with the tone on tone bubble dots. ;)
Lucky you!!! We are all green with envy! :)
oh i love those muted blues.
lucky you! could you order some for me too? please send me an email if it's okay with you ;)
I seriously have been looking for those blues forever. I'm soooo jealous!
Nothing beats a surprise sale!
You sure are a lucky girl! I'm gonna join the jealous category!
I love this fabric and can't wait to see what you do with it. I went to Etsy and found some of the collection so I'll have to buy some while it's still around.
Those are some beautiful colors!! Can't wait to see what kind of fantastic quilt you make with them!
Don't you love it when something you love/want/need just also happens to be on sale? Meant to be!
Awesome fabric, and on sale-yay!
nice...
I always like finding old favorites.
I am jealous! i love htis line. i was able to get a bit of the greens when i first started sewing, but it is all used up now:(
Oh yay! Isn't it wonderful to discover some old friends you thought you'd never see again? I don't get why they keep discontinuing fabric that people REALLY want.
I love that fabric line :-) Lucky you to find it, and on sale too! It doesn't get much better than that!
What part of MI did you live in? We just moved to the metro detroit area in August.
I join the many here who love Flea Market Fancy. Only one store I know of carries(d) it and they are out of the ones I want. I have searched for it a lot. I'm interested in your dealer's info too. Thanks and enjoy your blogging break. You deserve it, BUT I for one will miss you.
that is definitely my all time favorite line of fabric ever! I will have to check out the store the next time I'm on the west side of the state
I'm having a small giveaway of Flea Market Fancy on my blog
