These are my top 5 projects at the moment....
1. Spiderweb quilt. I am obsessed. A few of you commented that you don't think this will be a long term project. You are right. I could piece these little webs all. day. long.

4. Christmas tree skirt. Tutorial coming soon.
5. Mailing packages out, which includes this quilt that my dear Amy Jo made for the first quilt along. I offered to quilt it for her, now I just need to send it off. (Along with some other packages for other blog friends.)

ReplyDeleteOkay. I must confess that when I looked at the original spiderweb quilt on Quiltville, I wasn't loving it (shamefaced), but I love how yours is turning out. The muslin just makes the webs pop. Love the tree skirt! and I laughed out loud at you using your strings to knit a rug, because I am always finding ways to use my scraps. I can't bear to throw away the tiniest thing. Thanks for the inspiration. I may have to try that. (Can you hear my husband groaning now?)
ReplyDeletewww.thebossyquilter.blogspot.com
The spider web quilt made me smile. The candy corn quilt made the smile bigger. The tree skirt made me giggle - I need a new one and was waiting patiently for your take on one....but then to see my quilt all pretty and quilted all pretty by none other than you.....well that just made me giddy with excitement. You are such a dear, sweet friend. I miss you terribly.
ReplyDeleteps - I like the rug too!!! I bet it feels great under barefoot toes!
What lovely projects! That spiderweb quilt is to die for! No wonder you are a little addicted.
ReplyDeleteMy older children were gone so I had to shop for pjs, but I would rather be quilting. I would love for you to answer some time how you do your quilting (stippling) with what seems in your photo to be a normal sewing machine. I love your projects. You inspire me.
ReplyDeleteCeleste
Thanks for the update on the spiderweb quilt. I am SO inspired by it and day dream about it often. I am saving scraps in earnest.
ReplyDeleteOther than that I'm trying to type with a 45lb 4-year-old on my lap and looking at the laundry, groceries, and toys that need to be put away. And sewing . . . sometime today!
Today I am doing laundry (but avoiding folding it,) working on Christmas gifts (wishing I could blog about them but can't) and wasting way too much time online!
ReplyDeleteYour projects look great!!
well let's see, Malka and I went to the library, then the park, then Starbucks, then came home and had lunch. She napped, and I had to get some work done for work (we both have these days off for the Jewish Holidays) And now we are off to a playdate. We'll come home and probably do a rushed dinner and bath, then after she goes to sleep, I'll finish the 30+ felt carrots I'm working on for a felt food swap.
ReplyDeletePhew.
Joyous, but um, PHEW!
Wow, wow, wow! The spiderweb blocks are beautiful. That is going to be a stunning quilt.
ReplyDeleteToday I am:
1) Snuggling with newborn.
2) Snuggling with three year old.
3) Trying to snuggle with newborn and three year old at the same time (difficult).
4) Remote snuggling with husband from across the room as he holds one child and I hold the other.
5) Trying to remember that laundry and dishes can wait for a while longer.
up at 5:30am took dd#2 to school, 2 loads of laundry, walked dog, tennis lesson, drove dd#1 back to college - 3 hours round trip- after 4 day break, carried 4 cases of water up 3 flights of steps to dorm room (arrgh), picked dd#2 up from running at school, picked ds up from football practice, dinner, drive dd#2 to swim practice, a few minutes of sewing - hopefully:)
ReplyDeletethe spiderweb is amazing! i may be looking for a new christmas tree skirt this year...mine's getting pretty worn, so i'll be curious to see yours. to do today...laundry, oil change, prep for class, rearrange the bedroom...etc. etc.
ReplyDeleteI love that spiderweb pattern! I want to do one that is "Christmas-y" though, so I can make a fun Christmas quilt!
ReplyDeleteOn my list of things to do is the usual (cleaning, and laundry), and I didn't get any of it done. But that is okay, because I feel like I got the most important things done: I played with my 16-month-old son and had the most fun either of us has had for a few days (we've both just gotten over a bout of the flu!)!
I love everything you posted about today. Love the spiderweb quilt. I just may have to try that.
