My little guy is done with first grade, and it's our first day of summer vacation. It's going to be interesting. :) It's going to take us a while to get into a groove, but once we do, I have a feeling that it's going to be great.
My husband started a longer commute today, also. They moved the location of his office to downtown Minneapolis. Thankfully he is carpooling, and his job is great, so we aren't complaining. He gets to work from home on Fridays, and that's only a half day. It sure beats last year, when at this time he was starting his new job (here), I was alone with our 3 kids trying to sell a house (in Michigan). Now that was stressful.
Hope you have a happy Monday!
This is one of my favorite blocks. I can't wait to get started. Have a fun week and enjoy those babies while they are home with you.(they go off to college too fast).
ReplyDeleteUgh. Block 7 already?? I just finished block 5!! I've got some cutting and sewing to do!
ReplyDeletePretty! I used all my white fabric on the second "winging it" quilt, so this may have to wait until the mail man brings me more.
ReplyDeleteWhere in MI? That's where I live now!
ReplyDeleteBlock 7, great number, great block! Thanjks again Amandajean and enjoy those young rascals!
ReplyDeleteI think this one is pretty! This is so fun and such an easy way to get a quilt done! Thank you!
ReplyDeletethe block is lovely, I keep wanting to join in, but I must finish the first one.....
ReplyDeletehope you have a much more relaxing summer than last year, that sounded like a lot of stress.
I made this one two weeks ago, yay! Now I can spend the day making the setting blocks --do I have to? I just wish they would magically appear somehow on my table.
ReplyDeleteI am ready! This is a very cute star. I hope your summer works out well. I am originally from Michigan too - suburbs of Detroit. But that was a LONG time ago.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty block, and I like the name. My kids are long grown, but your son is at a very special age. I hope you enjoy your summer with him and don't get in too strict of a groove. Sounds like the beginning of an exciting time in your life.
ReplyDeleteOh crud! I'm only finished with 3 blocks! I need to get working on these tonight!!! I made myself a deal though - before I can sew anything else, I have to clean out the kids winter clothing!!!! I guess I need to get to work on that too!! Bye!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with what you're doing here! What a great idea this quilt along is! Congrats on winning the pattern of your choice on my blog. Visit the patterns page on my website www.hollyhockquilts.com and send me your choice and address by email. I sure appreciate your visit and comment. Thanks again---
ReplyDeleteThis is a great block. I can't wait to checkout the different ones that folks are doing.
ReplyDeleteGlad that your husband's commute is easier now. That sounds like a hectic year last year. YIKES! It's gotta be an easier summer for you.
Hi, AmandaJean!
ReplyDeleteI just launched a new community website for quilters like you and your readers: www.quiltivate.com! I linked to this block for those looking for directions for the Ohio Star quilt block (http://www.quiltivate.com/blocks/49-ohio-star). I'd love for you and your readers to share what you're working on with all of your creations at Quiltivate.com!

ReplyDeleteFinally, some progress! Block 5 done this evening (it was H-A-R-D), and blocks 6 and 7 are all cut and laid out, waiting to be put together. It's 12AM though and I have work tomorrow, so it's off to bed for now ... pics later in the week, I hope!
ReplyDeleteHas it been a year already? Wow, time flies, huh. Why have we not gotten together now that you're so close? :)
ReplyDeleteThis block looks great! I'm all caught up and have one of my setting blocks done. I'm loving this project. Thanks for having this QAL for us. I love checking out everyone's blocks and seeing all of the different fabric choices. All of our quilts are the same, but different. Love it. BTY, one of my daughters and her family live in Plymouth and her husband carpools to work and also works from home on Fridays...hummmmmm...do ya think???
ReplyDeleteI found your site about two weeks ago, and the longer I look at the quilt along, the more I feel compelled to join....so please add me to your quilt along group! The blocks are beautiful and I can't wait to get started and try to catch up.
ReplyDeleteThe block is adorable - I love ginghams and prints paired up. Have fun!
