I am beginning to feel like Mama Urchin. I have piles of WIP's, but nothing to show for them. I am starting to panic because I haven't completed one quilt yet this year and we are well into February. Hopefully this week I can change that.
I have new piles of fabric, due to my successful shopping trip yesterday. It was so nice to buy fabric again! Most of the pieces above are to add to the stash. A few of the pieces will be bindings for some quilts I have in progress. And yes, I do have a polka dot obsession.
This is decorator weight fabric that I found in the bargain bonanza section for $1.29/yard. Isn't it adorable? There was no way that I could leave it behind. I am thinking curtains for my girls room and also a few quilt backs.
Tomorrow it's back to the quilt-a-long. We will be working on assembling the quilt top. I am anxious to see how everyone's quilts come together.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Lovely fabrics! Never enough fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI’m curious about your ideas how to put the quilt-a-long blocks together into a quilt-top!
I think polka dots are highly under-rated. Everyone thinks of strips and plaid and flowers. I love polka dots.
ReplyDeleteYou shouldn't feel bad about not having finished a project yet. You'll be miles ahead of the rest of us before long.
Not a single quilt? How many are on your "to do" list for 2008?
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely fabrics!
I'm anxious to see your ideas for assembling the quilt-a-long quilt.
I'm curious, when shopping for stash enhancement, how much yardage do you purchase?
ReplyDeletelooks like it was a great shopping trip!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard not to love the polks dots! They come in so many colors.
ReplyDeleteLove the animal fabric, my parents used to have similar wallpaper.
Gorgeous polka dots! And that animal print was definitely way too cute to pass up! Fabric shopping is the best! So many new possibilities!
ReplyDeleteNice stack!! Love the little animal print too!!
ReplyDeletemaybe not one completed quilt, but all of your quilt tops are so beautiful! love these fabrics you picked out!
ReplyDeleteI am a polka dot addict too! gorgeous fabrics, that animal print one is fabulous
ReplyDeleteDon't panic! We've all seen what you are capable of!
ReplyDeleteI think spots are right up there with stripes and checks. I can't think of one without the others.
What's not to love about a spot especially that gorgeous pink one on the bottom. I'm mad for a striped binding at the moment. Can't wait to see what you do with the quilt-a-long blocks.
ReplyDeleteGreat colors and fabrics. I've already started on another quilt top! Any chance you would show us how to use sashings to join our blocks? I only made one of each block and thought it would help to make the quilt a little bigger.
ReplyDeleteYou mean, I actually finished a quilt in 2008 BEFORE you did? That's a first! Don't worry, with as many tops as you have finished, you'll be caught up in no time! I love the fabrics you bought. It's always fun to fatten the stash!
ReplyDeleteAhhh. Polka dots and gingham (and stripes). Is there anything better???
ReplyDeletei am sure your quilt is going to be beautiful. How can you go wrong with polka dots and gingham? And with your skills? I can't to see it :) Hope you had a terrific weekend.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh...nice fabrics! Makes me want to buy some fabric, too. Though I ave been so good lately.
ReplyDeleteLove all your new fabrics, but that elephant one is too cute! Happy quilting!
ReplyDeleteLove the new fabrics. Polka dots are the best!
ReplyDeleteJust look at all the potential in those fabrics! Looks like you had a very successful fabric shopping trip.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving polka dots right now, as well. Especially put with some pretty florals. I can totally see why you couldn't pass up on that cute animal print. I'm sure we'll soon be seeing some more great projects from you.
Happy sewing!
Polka dot lover here as well! I am drawn to them...or maybe they are drawn to me LOL! Whatever is the reason, I have them, I love them, and can't imagine ever having too many 'POLKA DOTS'!! I just need to do something with them other then look at them and restack them! I enjoyed reading your blog, hope you don't mind!
