sewing room friday

it all looks innocent enough.....

.....until you look at the floor.

My husband walked by and said "oh, my!"
It's not my fault he came home early. :)

I'm working on this quilt right now. I am enjoying it immensely.
As if you couldn't tell from the mess.

  4. My mom took Tristan downstairs today where the toys and my crafting area are. She swears he said "yikes" when they got to the bottom of the stairs in response to the mess.

  6. Photo #2 is how I prefer to work, especially on a scrap quilt...just drag everything out, cutting & sewing with abandon! That's the worst thing about having the house up for sale. I've loosened up...do leave projects out, in progress...but can't quite *jump into things* like I used to.

  7. Thanks for the sneak peek of your sewing room. My craft room usually looks like the second photo, so it's nice to see reality photos. LOL!

  8. Ahhhhh! I can't believe I just happened upon your blog. I have just gotten the quilting bug back after a long hiatus and I am ready to go. I have been looking for some inspiration and here it is!!! You quilt how I want to. I was worried when I read the title of your Log Cabin post, wondering if it was going to be another plaid, dark quilt. But no! I see fun fresh colors that are exactly what I am wanting to quilt.

I am still very amateur, only quilting patchwork ones, but I am taking the same vow as you to not make any plain squares this year. I had in mind to sew my next quilt like your "betty quilt". I hope it turns out.

Also, do you have a quilting machine to stipple your quilts or do you do it by free hand? I will have to look to see if you have done a previous post about your sewing machine. I am in dire need of a new one.

Sorry so long, I am just excited to have found your blog.

  23. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog. You and your quilts are inspirational. I especially loved your Denyse Schmidt orange quilt. I've dusted off my sewing machine after many years. I appreciated reading your goals. Inspired me to set some of my own. Thanks!

I know how this feels. I'm trying to tackle some "early" spring cleaning myself.

Love the quilt you're working on. Such pretty colors.

Looking forward to visiting you in 2008.

    Happy New Year!

I love that you have a sewing room to yourself in your new home - you so deserve it (even if it does get messy every now and then).
