Folks, we have made it to week 9 in our quilt-a-long, can you believe it?
I chose another fairly easy block for this week.
And it's only 2 colors, just for you, Amy Jo. :)
cut 2 squares 4 7/8" from the colored fabric
cut 4 rectangles 2.5" x 4.5" from the colored fabric
cut 2 squares 4 7/8" from the background fabric
cut 1 square 4.5" from the background fabric
cut 4 rectangles 2.5" x 4.5" from the background fabric
use the 4 7/8" squares to make triangles
(use the same method as shown in the previous blocks)
layout as shown
sew together
and your block is complete
it should measure 12.5" at this point
any questions will be answered in the comments, as always.
Since when are triangles easy?
ReplyDeleteOh, it's a churn dash block! I know this because I just love saying it: churn dash, churn dash...
ReplyDeleteThanks Amandajean, triangles are my favourite! I love to learn the original names names of blocks So this is a churn dash block! Wow, it won’t take long before I will be a real quilter!
ReplyDeleteOh, Thank you...you know I love those one color blocks!! I'm now caught up and will get these done soon, so I can remain caught up!

Thanks for keeping up even when life throws you a curve. Hope everyone in your family is doing well. I got caught up over the weekend and am so in the groove I can't wait to sew tonight! I am using this quilt-a-long as an opportunity to practice being precise, and it's really helped me a lot to learn what works best for me. Those matchy points look pretty good, if I do say so myself! So glad to be a part, even though I don't have a blog. Someday soon I will try posting pictures.
ReplyDeleteI havent caught up yet I only found the site last week but I do have the first 4 weeks cut out
ReplyDeletehope to be fully caught up before week 10 is posted :-)
