It's done!
I finished the binding about 10 pm.
(Thus the crappy photos.)
I can't decide which one is worse...this
or this.
In the true spirit of the Gee's Bend quilters, I made this mostly out of jeans, khakis and shirts. (Most of the navy was new fabric picked up in remnant bins.) I love how it turned out. I love that I was able to recycle most of the materials for the top and come up with this.
The beauty of it shows through the pictures, not to worry! I love the simplicity of this one. Sometimes I think reusing stuff like this is almost more fun than buying new (almost!). By the way, I am really loving hand sewing stuff these days (embroidery, trim, etc.) so I think sewing the binding would be my favorite part too.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you finished the binding in just one day! I really like the pattern of this one.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! You rock on the recycling too!

ReplyDeleteYou would laugh if I told you what I managed to sewing (by hand) last night while sitting in bed :)
Again, so impressed with your talent and creativity. I LOVE that you used jeans, khakis + shirts!
