...a blogging funk. As you can probably tell from how much posting I have been doing lately.
I hate it that it is such a time sucker.
I hate the pressure I put on myself for everything to be so super interesting.
Because things in my life are really not, at this point.
And as much as I would like to, I can't do it all.
So I am going to try to go against everything in my personality and try to be a carefree blogger.
I have the rest of my alphabet posts planned and it should resume to a somewhat normal pace soon. Thanks for hanging with me.
I have trouble being a carefree anything. Let me know if you find a secret.
ReplyDeletethat's a good attitude! Just go with the flow... don't put anymore pressure on yourself than necessary. Whatever you post will be super, whether it's about your guilts, your kids, what you ate for dinner :)
ReplyDeleteI think we all put too much pressure on ourselves to have entertaining and inspiring posts, so I'm with you on that. I'll join you in the "carefreeness". Blogging should be about sharing, not impressing.
ReplyDeleteJust relax and enjoy! I know I tend to "suck" the fun out of some of my favorite things by placing high expectations on them! It is hard. Just remember why you wanted to blog in the first place.
ReplyDeletei get that way too....and the alphabet thing did that to me. in a big way. hugs.
ReplyDeleteYes we have all felt this way at one time or another. Let it be. I appreciate anything you have to blog about- it is the connection that matters and keeps me checking in on fellow crafty moms. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBoy, I feel your pain. How to manage the time and still read all the favorite blogs. Like Mama Urchin - if you find the secret, DO let us all know!
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone in your feelings. I think we all go through this. It helps me to think about why I blog--I blog for ME and if I go through phases that I don't blog often, that's okay. And the great thing about feed readers is that people can keep up with you regardless how often you post.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to how you feel. I've been there.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you said this. My life is sooo boring, and I feel the pressure to be interesting too. Esp. will the tons of new bloggers out there that are so prolific and inspiring. Yup.
ReplyDeleteany of us who have blogged for awhile have been through this. your creative juices ebb and flow. it will return, i promise. usually because you post about how you are blog blocked. go figure.
ReplyDeleteEvery so often I have to step away too because blogging feels more like a "job" that a fun hobby. Usually a few days of leaving the computer alone cures me!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice little break and see you soon!
Doesn't matter what you blog or what you don't blog. Doesn't matter when you blog or if you never blog again. What matters is you, my dear. With or without blogs, you are one amazing creation.
ReplyDeleteLYLAS!!!!
DH
I agree, blogging is supposed to be fun. I read just to keep caught up with you. It doesn't have to be some super interesting thing that is going on, you aren't publishing a magazine here... Lord knows my blog is about as boring as they come sometimes, but I'm ok with that. It's ok to take breaks now and then, too. I know that it does really suck up time and that a lot of that time could be spent elsewhere doing other things. That's ok, go do those other things, and then stop in once in a while and let us know what you've been up to. Blogging is what you make it, it can be a pressure filled time sucker, or it can be a relaxing way to catch up with friends and get new ideas. I hope you can find the balance that works for you.
ReplyDeleteyeah. this performance art can be difficult at times. damn writers block.
ReplyDeleteAwwe don't be so hard on yourself and just enjoy it when you can and step back when you have to.
ReplyDeleteOH, funks are bad. I don't like them either. But, like everything, this too shall pass. I love your blog just to keep up with the "goings on" in your life. It certainly doesn't always have to be interesting or perfect... I know mine is no where near that!
ReplyDeleteTake care! Miss ya!
I just posted about something similar today. Anyone who has a blog has experienced this once in a while and from experience I know that the more you think about it, the more difficult it is to get back to posting regularly. Try to relax about it...your readers will still be here!
ReplyDeleteDitto the comments above...I can totally relate. Also like the above, I just really love hearing from you and it doesn't matter if you knock my socks off with a quilt or just say hello. Love ya just the same!! Take care!
ReplyDeletePLEEEZE don't pressure yourself into posting...share your joys and they will return...we're happy with what we get! honest. blogging should make you crazy! lol
ReplyDeleteI dont know why I always plague myself with so much guilt. First it was the "mommy guilt" now I get the "blogging guilt" I feel horrible if I dont post everyday, why the guilt I dont know. You arent alone with the guilt and the funk we have all been there and will be there again I am sure!
ReplyDeleteWe are all in the same boat.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone feels this way sometimes... My little blogging break helped for me a bit. It at least helped me feel a bit less stressed about getting stuff done and such...
ReplyDeleteYour blog is wonderful though and I would read it even if you wrote about nothing! :)
