dress

This is the first garment I have sewn in a LONG time. Years. I had no pattern, but kinda copied a pillowcase dress that Linda made.
Inspired by this and this and this.
Tutorial here.
It actually looks better as a shirt for a 4 year old, but my four year old happens to be a boy, so that won't be happening.
The cost for the entire dress came in at well under $1.00.
I was so scared to try to sew clothing, but now I am excited to try more.

VERY CUTE! Abby looks darling in it! See, I told you they were super easy to make! Not to mention quick. Now you can make her dozens of them through the next several years! Good work!

Look how sweet she is. She can wear it as a dress now and as she gets taller slowly convert it to shirt!

That is very cute. I guess it's reusable, too. When she gets older, she can wear it as a shirt.

It is so cute!! I'm glad you gave it a try! Little girl clothes are really fun to make (mostly because they are really quick to make!) Little Miss A is adorable too! She looks like a very happy girl :)

Looks a lot like those dresses I used to wear in Micronesia...only missing the puffy sleeves. But the style is lots cuter in smaller sizes. Like the fabric too.

Very cute dress and girl! Don't tell anyone I use my boys as fit models for the dresses I've been making, lol.

Sewing for girls is fun! You will not be able to stop at this. I am scheming up some matching dresses for my girls (3 of them) for this coming winter. I was given the advice to sew for them while they are young because there will come a time when they don't want to wear anything that mommy makes!

The dress is adorable (as is the huge grin on the model's face). With the amount of talent that you have, I'm surprised that you haven't done more garment sewing. Maybe this will be the beginning of a trend?
