My first ever completed crochet project. It's a little wonky at one end, but still, I am pleased as pie. And the blister on my finger has healed up nicely. :)
Way to go Ssister! How creative are you to think of making a bathmat?! Turned out awesome! How's the braiding classes going for you? I am amazed how many projects you have going on, and you seem to finish each one. Such a multi-multi talented gal, if I ever did know one. You are somethin else! You inspire me! Thanks buddy...Luhee
Hi buddy...Luhee again...Have you ever thought of making a shower curtain (quilted)...Would'nt that be AWESOME? It would be so STINKIN cute I think...I hope you are havin a great day, and praise God your blister is a goin away! Say hi to all for us...
Wow - that turned out really cute! I love white bathroom stuff...makes it feel clean I think. (Bad part is that white stuff doesn't stay clean long. Thank God for bleach!!) Great picture too. Sweet clean little feet. They don't stay that way long either do they! Happy V-day!
oh i LOVE it! It's just perfect. I have so been wanting to make a homemade bath rug but I wasn't sure how to go about it. Can I ask what kind of yarn you used? Also I was worried it might be too slippery (as in doesn't stick to the floor very well so you trip over it and stuff?) Did you have a problem with that?
Congrats on completing a crochet project! I think I have at least 5 projects that are now lying around half-done! I can never seem to finish what I start crocheting. :)
thanks for all the positive comments...you guys are the best! now to answer a few questions,
Lucy, my sister has made a patchwork shower curtain and it is so cool...wish I had pictures to show you. someday I will probably make one myself, but not for a while. julieree, I used Peaches and Cream (Creme?) yarn that came on a big one lb. cone. It is 100% cotton and it has no give when crocheting, but I got used to working with it after awhile. The pattern I used is in the book One Skein by Leigh Radford. Great book! It only took me about 3-4 days to complete this project. It does kinda slide around on the floor, but not too bad. We use the mat for standing on right after the shower/bath and then hang it up afterwards...so it isn't used as a full time rug...something that white with a house full of dirty little feet wouldn't stay clean for very long! :) It has great texture, and I will probably making another one (or more) very soon.
Wow, this is almost enough to make me want to upgrade from rag rugs, but perhaps I should just experiment with different stitches. (Can't beat the yard sale collection of cheap fabric I've got.) By the way, the rugs I make can get slippery--depending what sort of fabric I'm working with. A rug liner works wonders to solve this problem.

Love the bath mat, and Parker's feet, I think. How long did it take? I like it but don't know what color that I would want.
