I have a small finish today, but it's a finish nonetheless! Considering this crazy time of year, I'll take it! :)
I made these handy fold-up pouches to give to a few of my friends that enjoy drinking tea. They were a fun little project and I can see several more in my sewing future. It's fun to mix and match different fabric combinations. Picking the fabric takes almost as long as sewing them up. I'm not complaining, though...I love playing with fabric!
The pattern is called Handy Fold-Up Pouch and it comes from the book Stitched Sewing Organizers by Aneela Hoey. It's a beautiful book filled with several practical projects that I would love to make someday.
Alright! That's it for me today! I hope you have a finish that you can share. (I know that it's so hard this time of year, because there is a lot of secret sewing going on!) Please link up, and thanks, as always, for joining me for finish it up Friday! Have a great weekend!
What a cool pouch! I must get that ruler, thanks for sharing it. Have a fantastic weekend!ReplyDelete
you make the best projects!!ReplyDelete
Great idea! Perfect gift! So cute!ReplyDelete
That ruler is awesome!! Thanks for the suggestion.ReplyDelete
Those little pouches are so cute!!!ReplyDelete
That hot ruler is much cooler than the strips of cereal box cardboard I use. I cut some in different widths, 1/2" and 1" and use those to press with. It works but is somewhat clumsy.ReplyDelete
Merry Christmas Amanda!
I have not seen that ruler, and how slick is that?!! Yes, who can easily press that hemline straight but with this nifty tool . . . it would at least be much easier. Still no promise of it being straight. The little tea pouches are a great idea and so darn cute. Any finish this time of year is a) a miracle, and b) fabulous. ~smile~ Roseanne
As an avid decaffeinated only tea drinker, I can attest for how nice having a travel pouch like this can be. What a lovely and thoughtful gift!ReplyDelete
I have this book and there are several projects I would love to make. This is a great, practical and versatile project.ReplyDelete
It is a busy time of year! I was hoping you were hosting a linkup this week. Thanks again!ReplyDelete
A hot ruler!!! I need one of those, that you for sharing this wonderful tool. xReplyDelete
Love, love, love the pouch! So cute!ReplyDelete
The ruler sounds like a good idea, and handy for more than hems I’m sure!
Great great great! I can't link, but I've finished a lot of reversible fleece neckwarmers this week https://sewing4free.com/make-fleece-neck-warmer/ReplyDelete
I have one of those hot press rulers. They're sure not cheap! But they're handy for pressing seams the correct width... if you can remember where you've stored it!ReplyDelete
Yeah my library has it!ReplyDelete
That ruler sounds like something I'm going to say, "Now why didn't I think of that?" I certainly need one! It's going on my Christmas list. (The one I make for my husband so he doesn't buy some lame gift...like diamond earrings.)ReplyDelete
Your little pouch is just fantastic for several things. Credit cards. Lipstick or lip balm. Game pieces or cards. Those tiny little toys that are left in the middle of the hall to warn us when there's an intruder. Humm, I should get off the computer and start making!
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
