scraps up for grabs

So, my long time on-line friend Carolyn has too many scraps...and together we'd like to put them up for adoption. If you would like to win this stack of scraps, which would be perfect for a scrap vortex quilt, please leave me a comment in this post. In your comment, I'd love to hear what your favorite summer time activity is. This contest will be open to US residents only, due to shipping costs. I plan to pick a winner in a day or two. Good luck! :)

Happy, happy Monday to you!

Ride around in the jeep with the top down with a 7 eleven Slurpee.
Have you ever done a scrap pile swap? That would be fun and everyone would get a new exciting pile of scraps.
(Not sure what happened to my original post- this may come up twice) oops.

That is fabulous that you are giving away so much scrappy goodness. That it will go to just one person, makes me sad.
My favorite activity this summer is to ride my bike. I have not done that in 20 years so relearning is both challenging and fun.

My favorite summertime activity (as my 13 year old daughters as well) is going to the beach. Oh how we love it! We go to the Indiana Dunes on Lake Michigan as we can spend the whole day there for $5 (a bargain at twice the price). Sadly tho this summer we've had awful weather for doing much of anything besides watching the heavy rains come down. It's been one yucky summer. But I'm looking on the bright side...this Friday looks like PERFECT beach weather. Yahoo for us!!

Free scraps? Of course I'm in! This summer I have been working on a vortex quilt based on the idea on your blog. I have about 1/3 of it done. I thought it would go fast but since I want a king size, taking alot longer. I keep grabbing different scraps, taking a break, working on new projects to collect more scraps, back to vortex....and so it has gone since your first blog earlier this summer. Thanks for the inspiration!

During the summer I like to travel to see friends and family who are spread all over the USA. Would love to visit friends in other countries, too, but that is not possible at this time. This summer we drove over seven thousand miles during a seven week trip and saw many people in many states. The highlight was seeing four grandchild living in CA whom we had not seen for three years. Besides them we saw people in Illinois, Nebraska, Colorado, Nevada, and Texas. In August we will be back to Illinois plus Michigan, and Virginia. A quilting or sewing project is always with me, of course. Nancy A: rangerer@sbcglobal.net

Reading or quilting in the hammock is a favorite summer activity.
These scraps would make a wonderful scrappy quilt - Nickle Quilt, Triple Irish Chain come to mind. 24Tangent@gmail.com

Right now, my favorite summer activity seems to be anything in air conditioning. I'm not a fan of hot weather and it's hot, humid and hazy. Would love to win the scrap bundle. After finishing my scrap vortex quilt, I really, really, really need new scraps. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. (shirparks@gmail.com)

Hi,
I've been enjoying your emails and the blog this summer. Re my favorite summer activity, I think I'd have to say walking my dogs along the river. Or, reuniting with my bike after 3 years! And, quilting of course. I'm starting several quilts made of ties from a friend whose father died. He was a real fan of ties of all sorts, so it's fun to think about how I might use them.

I'd love to have your scraps as scrap quilts are my absolute favorites. I head for the scraps before I ever cut into yardage!

Thanks,
Marjorie Elliott

I like to sit in my patio, open the windows to a hopeful breeze, and read. It's actually better if there is a light rain. Just a relaxed and lazy feeling.

Extra special Summer as my grown daughter is staying with us for a while. We take a lot of neighborhood walks, go out for coffee and may go to the outdoor movie our city shows for free. Oh, and of course a bit of sewing by hand.
