more mini nines

Over the weekend I sewed up some more mini nine patch blocks. This project has been on the back burner for awhile!
Here are the 36 newest blocks. Man, they are fiddly! I'm using any color combination that strikes my fancy at the time. I'm trusting in the theory that "more is more" when it comes to scrap quilts. Hopefully it holds true once again!
Now I have 85/396 done. Progress is slow, but it's progress nonetheless! I'll take it. :)

If you want to make a few of your own, the block measurements can be found in this tutorial.

Happy Monday to you!

This project is fantastic! I can't wait to see the finished quilt top. You don't shy away from the tiny-tiny!

Kuddos!!! That looks really great...but let's break it down to 100s. You are 85% done when you look at it like that!
Happy Monday!

I wish I had time to make some of those blocks (on a possibly bigger scale). Another thing to add to my quilt making list for after my adventure.

Oh wow aren't they gorgeous - I love that your colour palette is still coming across fairly consistently even with a random pick and mix approach!

More is definitely more! Keep going as Dory says , " keep swimming just keep swimming"
Now not to get all mathy on you all, sadly NOT 85% completed....but almost 25% which is halfway to halfway and after that it's all downhill in my book of quilty. C'mon you love a challenge admit it. ;-) have a great day!

This could be interesting to do with miscut fabric that is otherwise not salvagable. This gets my brain churning and doesn't help with the U.F.O.'s I should be planning on finishing.

I remember you were making these at Camp,Stitchalot last August! Considering all you do, I think you're plugging along quite well! I don't know if you remember the camper from Toronto that shared the Building Houses from Scraps quilt with 365 paper pieced houses- she made one everyday? Well, I was all fired up to make one and I'm stalled at 65 houses. You've inspired me to get them out of the closet and start building again. Only 300 to go!

They are awfully cute little blocks. With scrappy quilts I do think the more the merrier most times so have a merry time making more.

Yes, I agree--the more, the merrier!

I love what you do and am inspired by your ideas for Sunday Morning Quilts. I will make some of these nine patch squares but perhaps a bit bitter. It is sew much fun to see these new ideas from traditional quilts on the blogs. Because of you, and Pinterest, I now have a whole new world of ideas to choose from... and I've been quilting since the 1970's!

Oh that's coming together beautifully! It's busy yet cozy. I like it!

I am SO in LOVE with this little quilt so far! Nine patch blocks are some of my favorites anyway and then minis to boot! I love the motion of the nine patch and it is just amplified by the smaller size. It's a feast for the eyes! Can't wait to see it finished!

Great idea for using leftover materials. love it.

I love it! Now I know what to on do with thr small 9 patch blocks I was given by a fellow guild member. Thank you for the inspiration!

So...... I also started sewing these when you posted the tutorial. I have 900+ blocks!!!! Not sure what to do with them at this point. They are way too scrappy to go next to each other. At the beginning of summer I played around with some setting ideas, but then broke my arm. So now they just sit in bags (and bags and bags).....
