super scrap happy, again

I added more to my super scrap happy quilt top.
You can see the smaller version here.
It now measures 64" x 90"....so a nice twin size.
I'm so in love with this quilt!
It's just hundreds of scraps all jammed together.
Piecing this way is such great therapy.
I was debating making it a king size.
So I threw it on my bed to see what it would look like.
Now I know I'm going to have to keep going and make it bigger.
Like my husband says, it matches the pillows, so why not?
That's reason enough for me!!!

(besides, everyone needs 5 king size quilts for their bed, right?)

  5. I think living where you live you can never have enough quilts for your beds! I'm playing a little game with that photo called "find my scraps" :) Seriously though, my Amanda bin is getting kind of full, maybe I should send you some more supplies.

  11. Yes, king size for sure! It would be a crime not to!

Of the 598,525,742 things I have fallen in love with on your blog this one is my VERY VERY favorite. It's perfection!

Crazy as this sounds......even though "jamming scraps together" seems like it should be intuitive, would you consider a tutorial on this?? Just thoughts along the way to balance shapes, colors, etc??

    Lookin' good!

  19. It will make a great king quilt. I so understand the number of king quilts you have. Last summer Imade a king Swoon quilt. I calculated the cost of batting and the backing needs to be pieced anyhow so I decided it made more sence to make it reversible. Depending on how I feel in the morning when making the bed I decide on what side goes on top.

  56. I love you scrappy quilt. Mine never look that good. I'm gonna try again and see what happens
I'm collecting squares right now and a few strips so we'll see in time. I just have to get the equal color values grouped together I think.

    Thanks for sharing
