I added more to my super scrap happy quilt top.
You can see the smaller version here.
It now measures 64" x 90"....so a nice twin size.
I'm so in love with this quilt!
It's just hundreds of scraps all jammed together.
Piecing this way is such great therapy.
I was debating making it a king size.
So I threw it on my bed to see what it would look like.
Now I know I'm going to have to keep going and make it bigger.
Like my husband says, it matches the pillows, so why not?
That's reason enough for me!!!
(besides, everyone needs 5 king size quilts for their bed, right?)
LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteyou could stare at it all day long and still find something new - such a happy quilt.
ReplyDeleteoh amandajean! you have to keep going! it is beautiful!!!

Yes, king size for sure! It would be a crime not to!
ReplyDeleteOf the 598,525,742 things I have fallen in love with on your blog this one is my VERY VERY favorite. It's perfection!
Crazy as this sounds......even though "jamming scraps together" seems like it should be intuitive, would you consider a tutorial on this?? Just thoughts along the way to balance shapes, colors, etc??
Lookin' good!
Oh of course you can never have too many quilts! ;) Love it! Although I think queen size is the largest quilt you will ever find me making :)
ReplyDeleteSo great! Oh to have so many happy scraps! It really is sweet on your bed!
ReplyDeletelove it! and love that your husband agrees with you! :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous. That would make me inexplicably happy every time I walked into my room.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! How do you quilt something this big? I would really love to hear your thoughts on this. Or did you cover that already in a past post. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love how there are so many colors.. yet they all tie in so nicely together.

Absolutely!!! The more, the merrier, isn't that true about quilts also? Love the quilt, and fun to see what quilting you choose!
ReplyDeleteIt will make a great king quilt. I so understand the number of king quilts you have. Last summer Imade a king Swoon quilt. I calculated the cost of batting and the backing needs to be pieced anyhow so I decided it made more sence to make it reversible. Depending on how I feel in the morning when making the bed I decide on what side goes on top.
ReplyDeleteScraps make me happy! This is quilt is going to be amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWOW love it. I guess I missed how you made it. Is there a tutorial?
ReplyDeleteI could do this..no points or seams to match !! Love it! I just got your book..and love it too ! thanks
ReplyDeleteIt's a portfolio of your scraps!
ReplyDeletegorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely x
ReplyDeleteThis is adoreable! Although it seems simple, is there a tutorial for one single block?
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! More, please. This will make an incredible quilt for your king size bed. So scrappy wonderful!

ReplyDeleteWords are not enough!

ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I think I need a project like that to lessen some of my stash too!
ReplyDeleteIf you can get a king out of scraps why not, instead of a twin..money saved.

ReplyDeleteI think five is a good number for lots of things: Fingers, Toes, Quilts that fit one's favorite bed, cards in a poker hand. It's stunning and I love that you can just make it bigger whenever you want. i join the requests for a tute.
ReplyDeleteI love you scrappy quilt. Mine never look that good. I'm gonna try again and see what happens
ReplyDeleteI'm collecting squares right now and a few strips so we'll see in time. I just have to get the equal color values grouped together I think.
